The Zimbabwe Institute of Diplomacy (ZID) paid homage to the Embassy of the Republic of Ghana in Zimbabwe through a tailor-made 3-Day Diplomatic Refresher Workshop, facilitated by Ambassador V. A. Chikanda.
The engagement recognised Ghana’s historic contribution to Pan-Africanism and African unity, inspired by the enduring legacy of its founding President, Dr Kwame Nkrumah, one of Africa’s foremost champions of Pan-Africanism.
The highly interactive workshop was enriched by discussions, questions and reflections on contemporary international relations, global affairs, peace, international cooperation and the evolving practice of diplomacy. It underscored diplomacy as an indispensable instrument for dialogue, engagement and peaceful relations among nations.
Key areas covered included Diplomatic Practice and International Relations; International Diplomatic and Consular Law; diplomatic, corporate and social protocol; professional communication; grooming, deportment, dressing and decorum; as well as an Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its responsible application in diplomatic work.
Through practical discussions and simulations, participants sharpened their capacity to navigate contemporary diplomatic engagements while representing the Republic of Ghana with professionalism, confidence and distinction.
The engagement reaffirms ZID’s commitment to strengthening diplomatic capacity across Africa and advancing Pan-African unity, international cooperation and excellence in contemporary diplomatic practice.
